What's a good website to find rental houses/apartments?

I currently live in Florida, but I'm looking to move back to Tucson, Az. I need a site in which I can browse both rental houses and apartments. If I decide that things really are in my range, I'll fly out, find work and houseing, come back to get my cat/dog and stuff and be gone. Thanks much. I actually looked at rent.com, but they don't list everything availible, and no houses as far as i could find.

  1. rent.com of course!
  2. rent.com gives you a $100 for renting using their website.
  3. rent.com i'm on there and its kinda nice, free though i believe there are not enough listings for those apartment searches.
  4. go to the arizona wildcat (u of a) if you are looking for something central, otherwise tucson.com is a good local resource, if you are looking for a roommate then roommates.com is good, I will be possibly looking for a roommate in the summer
  5. Try craigslist craigslist.com
  6. call a realtor in tuscon. they have listings that probably aren't on rent.com or craigslist. Also, they'll drive you around and show you different properties. They also know the neighborhoods; you don't.
  7. apartment locators know the following (and are free) (1) where the best deals are (2) how to get you leased even if you're not here (3) the legalities of leasing so you don't get screwed locators are also real estate agents (but not always realtors who won't have time for a simple apartment transaction). the best tip i have is to call a large apartment complex in tucson, let them know that they are actually out of the area you want to live in (so they don't try to sell you the moon and the stars), but can they recommend an apartment locator? don't go it alone- get help and can worry about many of the details before you even get there; they're free so why not? i used to be an apartment manager and i think their services are invaluable!
